Welcome to the Marine Conservation Society!

On Saturday 10th December we will be heading to Avon beach which is a beautiful stretch of coastline opposite Hengistbury Head over the River Avon. We are aiming to clean and survey a section of beach that runs from the Noisy Lobster Cafe towards the northern end of the Avon beach huts.

There is free on-road parking on side streets prior to the main car park otherwise, it's a small fee for using the car park. Please bring your own gloves and/or litter pickers and we'd recommend bringing an old re-usable carrier bag rather than using plastic bin bags. Wrap up warm! It's going to be chilly!

The Noisy Lobster have also very kindly offered a 20% discount at their cafe after all your amazing efforts.

If you have any questions, please get in touch. See you then!

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
