MCS Great British Beach Clean Clevedon Pier
Join this beach clean to help us stop harmful litter from reaching the ocean and collect vital data that we can use to bring about positive change for our seas.
Join me for a clean-up on Clevedon Pier Beach as part of the Marine Conservation Society's annual Great British Beach Clean event. The Beach, Clevedon, North Somerset, BS21 7QU
The plan - to clean the beach and record the litter as we go on Beachwatch survey forms...Find out more about surveying and the importance of Beachwatch litter data here!
Equipment is provided but please bring your own gloves (e.g. gardening) and hand sanitiser if you can. It is a sand & pebble beach so please wear sensible sturdy shoes. There are dangerous mudflats here at low tide so please stick to the shore line.
Car parking - There is free parking along the length of the sea front, with a coach stop-off lay-by.
The pier is £3.50 per adult if you want to visit it and is open until 6pm.
Loos - there are public toilets at Pier Copse Toilets, not sure if there is a charge for these so on the safe side bring some change.
Meeting location - on the beach next to the southside of the pier.
No dogs allowed on the beach.
Any questions and please get in touch...
Also worth knowing…
What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).
What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.
Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
