To celebrate Marine Clean Cymru, help Keep Wales Tidy and our friends at Marine Conservation Society keep Ogmore beach looking beautiful this September. We’ll also be recording what we find using the Marine Conservation Society’s litter survey, which will help us collect vital evidence in our fight against marine pollution.

All participants must register for the event here on Marine Conservation Society’s website.

Please bring along your own litter picking kit, or you can borrow equipment on the day as everything will be provided. There will also be a safety briefing at the start of the clean-up. Please bring your own gardening gloves, sensible shoes and wear weather appropriate clothing.

In registering for a Marine Clean Cymru event, you are agreeing to follow Keep Wales Tidy’s health and safety guidelines which can be found here: https://keepwalestidy.cymru/caru-cymru/spring-clean-cymru-2022/planning-your-clean-up/

You must notify Keep Wales Tidy if you have any underlying health problems that may affect your involvement in the activity. If you are no longer able to attend, please let us know so that we can re-allocate your place.

Please DO NOT attend the clean-up if you are feeling unwell or have tested positive for COVID-19.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with Tom Ashmore at [email protected]

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
