Hengistbury Head Beach Clean
All of our events are arranged in line with national and local government Covid guidance. Please ensure that you know and understand the current rules.
Welcome to the Marine Conservation Society!
On Saturday 29th April we will be heading to Hengistbury Head, Christchurch which is a beautiful stretch of sand backdropped by cliffs. We are aiming to clean and survey a section of the beach from the Hiker Cafe towards the western groyne.
There is a small fee for car parking. Please bring your own gloves and/or litter pickers and we'd recommend bringing an old re-usable carrier bag rather than using plastic bin bags. Wrap up warm! It's going to be chilly!
The Hiker Cafe have also very kindly offered to provide a free hot drink at their cafe after all your amazing efforts.
If you have any questions, please get in touch. See you then!
Also worth knowing…
What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).
What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.
Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
10 spaces remaining - join us on the beach whilst there’s still spaces!
