Join us for a family-friendly beach clean and litter survey at the Black Peal beach at New Brighton!

All ages welcome, under 16's will need to be accompanied by an adult. There is a cap on the number of people I can provide equiptment for, so please register your interest so you don't miss out.

All equiptment provided, but you are welcome to bring your own gloves if you prefer (gardening gloves are fine). Please dress for the weather and bring comfortable footwear. Water in a reusable bottle is advised (beach cleaning can be thirsty work!)

The clean and litter survey will last between 1 hour - 1 hour 30 minutes depending on how much litter we find and how long any little people can last.

We'll be kicking off promptly at 10:30am, so please allow enough time to walk along the prom if coming from Perch Rock car park (approx. 10 minutes walk, or 15 minutes for little feet).

Parking can be found at Perch Rock car park (CH45 2JS) and all along Marine Promenade.

Hope to see you there!

Beach stretch details

From the rocks behind The Black Pearl wooden pirate ship, this 100m stretch heads up the Mersey to just beyond the public slipway to the beach.

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
