Thank you for signing up to the MCS beach survey and clean for Appley day; all the data we collect can be used by the MCS to push government and companies to create policies to reduce marine pollution and to see if in fact these policies are creating a difference.

We will be surveying 100m of the beach and then cleaning towards the Dell Cafe.

Children under 16 years are welcome but they must attend and remain with their parent/guardian throughout.

Any children 16-18 years must have signed parental consent.

We have gloves, litter pickers and bags etc but please bring your own gloves if you have them.

Please make sure you have suitable layers for the weather and practical footwear ( boots, trainers, wellies- no open toed sandles please)

Any questions please get in touch

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
