Join us on beautiful Sand Bay for a New Year clean-up!

The plan - meet on the beach, they'll be a short safety briefing, equipment will be handed out and then we'll start cleaning!

You can take part in the 100m litter survey we'll be doing - find out what this is and why this is so valuable here! - or you can just do some general cleaning, or both!

Equipment - all equipment is provided (gloves, bags, litter pickers, survey forms and clipboards) but please bring your own if preferred.

Car parking - the nearest car park is Sand Bay Car Park, BS22 9UE. There is a height barrier here (2.1m) & fee to park (all day, £2.50).

Loos - there are loos in Sand Bay Car Park (30p).

Dogs are allowed on Sand Bay.

Please dress for the weather!

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
