Working with you

Here at MCS, we have found that people power really brings about change for the better - convincing governments of the need for a marine act, helping supermarkets to see the need to source sustainable seafood, and informing public opinion more widely. You can help us in our vital work, and immerse yourself in MCS activities in many different ways!

Most simply, your support as a member makes a huge contribution to our day to day work. As our supporter base strengthens, so our collective voice becomes louder. Membership of MCS costs from as little as £2.75 a month and every new member will receive our fantastic welcome pack, quarterly magazine and opportunities to become involved.

MCS has four current campaigns to which you can add your voice right now. Marine protected areas are desperately needed to protect wildlife in UK seas - click here to help get marine reserves on the map. And, if you eat fish, you can find out what's good to eat, and download a handy pocket guide to help here.

If you'd like to be "hands on", you could volunteer to join one of the many MCS Beachwatch beach cleaning events, which take place regularly all around the country, or you could even become a Beachwatch organiser yourself. You could also become a Sea Champion, an exciting new volunteering initiative which allows you to become more actively involved. And all around the UK, MCS supporters can join together in forming MCS Local Groups, or simply spread the word and promote MCS locally as individuals.

If you feel you can volunteer your time and energy in other ways - perhaps by writing a letter to your MP, or hosting a collection box in your local shop - do get in touch!
