MCS has been involved in talks to plan the next stage of the 'Your Seas Your Voice' campaign to set up Marine Conservation Zones around the UK.
Representatives from MCS including members of the bio-diversity team met with MCS volunteer supporters who will sit on the four regional Marine Conservation Zone projects.
The group looked at the work of MCS in the past in relation to Marine Protected Areas and how to ensure the public are engaged with the campaign moving forward. The meeting agreed that MCS should help ensure an ecological understanding of the goals of the MCZ's, as well helping to increase the knowledge of the marine environment. MCS will also be instrumental in putting together a process of gathering public opinon through Your Seas Your Voice.
