MCS helps TV chefs encourage the UK to tackle more varied and sustainable fish dishes
A week of programmes broadcast on Channel 4 last week was dedicated to catching, eating and cooking fish. MCS advised many of the chefs on the kinds of fish to cook, to encourage viewers to try something different when it comes to their next fish supper. The week-long series starts on January 11th.
Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall took one of MCS'
key messages to the kitchen - fish that are often
thrown away, like sprat and flounder, shouldn't be wasted.
Jamie Oliver cooked only with fish given MCS's top sustainability ratings - meaning they come from well managed, healthy stocks. Click here for a special Jamie recipe.
If the programmes served up more questions than they answer, then you will find all the help you need in the Marine Conservation Society Pocket Fish Guide, available at www.goodfishguide.co.uk.
