Dates for your diary - Help the RNLI keep you beach-safe  

August 3rd St Agnes Lifeboat Day - All-day fund-raising and awareness-raising 'fete' on the beach, with visits from neighbouring lifeboats and the rescue helicopter from RNAS Culdrose (operational commitments permitting). Demonstrations of rescues from RNLI, helicopter and Coastguards. Also, sandcastle competition, tug-of-war, games on the beach, BBQ and fun, fun, fun! Be there or miss it! 

August 4th Looe Paddle for Life – A sponsored paddle for raise money and awareness for the vital work carried out by over 150 RNLI Lifeguard units around the coast of the UK 

August 5th Gwithian Summer Sprint  – participants can choose between a 5 and 10k run for the event which is one of five taking place across the country during ‘Lifeguard Week’, which highlights the vital lifesaving work carried out by over 150 RNLI Lifeguard units around the coast of the UK.  

August 8th Newquay Lifeboat Day  – The lifeboat station will be open to the public and the two inshore lifeboats will available for members of the public to see at close quarters. Throughout the day there will be search and rescue displays by Newquay’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat, Gladys Mildred, the D class lifeboat, Valerie Wilson, Padstow’s Tamar class lifeboat, Spirit of Padstow and a SAR helicopter from RNAS Culdrose.

August 11th – 12th Plymouth National Aquarium – A family fun day for the aquarium’s visitors to raise awareness of beach safety and the vital work carried out by over 150 RNLI Lifeguard units around the coast of the UK.

August 14th Cheltenham Leisure Centre - A family fun day for the residents of Gloucestershire to raise awareness of beach safety and the vital work carried out by over 150 RNLI Lifeguard units around the coast of the UK.

August 19th – 22nd Bournemouth Airshow - Incredible air displays, attractions and fantastic evening entertainment – Bournemouth is ready to welcome you to the UK’s biggest free aviation Festival this summer! The highlights include a visit from the world famous Red Arrows!

August 30th Bude Lifeboat Day - A fun day for all the family with Bude lifeboat crew, rowing races, sand & culm races, coffees, cream teas, music and singing, treasure hunt, crab catching competition, helicopter demo, hog toast, ladies guild stalls, sea safety caravan, beach rescue, disco, live band, fireworks, even Stormy Stan could be there!

September 4th – 5th Swansea Bay Baefest - Swansea Bay will host the largest free entry beach festival in Wales: 2 days packed with land and water events, live entertainment, two music stages, colourful stalls, arts and crafts and so much more!

September 6th – 10th Okehampton Lifeskills – A community event where local schools talk with emergency services and learn about beach safety and the vital work carried out by over 150 RNLI Lifeguard units around the coast of the UK.

September 11th – 12th Windsor Legoland - THE hugely-successful Amazing Machines weekend returns to LEGOLAND® Windsor with an array of action-packed activities, from thundering Monster Trucks to Roary the Racing Car and fun-loving mechanic Big Chris. In addition, the RNLI is bringing along its friendly mascot Stormy Stan for some fun and games.

September 17th – 19th  Southport Air Festival

September 20th – 24th Torbay Lifeskills - A community event where local schools talk with emergency services and learn abut beach safety and the vital work carried out by over 150 RNLI Lifeguard units around the coast of the UK
