Be an Organiser
Organising is simple! – There are over 900 Beachwatch organisers who love it – so why not join them! They are the people who make the surveys happen. Without them, a beach could be left dirty and we wouldn't have any data on the litter around our coastline.
First you need to check your beach doesn't already have an organiser. If an organiser is already in place you can either choose to volunteer at that beach or choose another nearby beach to organise.
Then follow these simple steps:
-
Once you register your interest, we will process your application, confirm the beach you have chosen and ask for additional information if needed.
-
Once we are happy that the beach you have chosen is suitable we will send an organiser pack by post or email.
-
You will need to return the beach and organiser registration and risk assessment forms to MCS.
-
We will let you know when you are fully registered and you can then start organising beach cleans immediately.
|
Stay safe at the beach
-
Check tide times to make sure the tide won't be 'in' whilst you're surveying.
-
Give a safety briefing - most important. Remind all volunteers that they carry out the beach clean at their own risk.
