If you love the sea, or simply enjoy a trip to your local beach, MCS has a range of things you can do to get involved and make a difference. You can help keep a beach clean and safe by taking part in a beach clean event, or, if you're out and about, please record and report any sightings of jellyfish, basking sharks or turtles to us. You may have a special place which you believe needs better protection, and you can vote for this on the Your Seas Your Voice website, showing your support for new Marine Conservation Zones in Wales. As a charity with funding provided through the generosity of people such as yourself, you can join MCS, or support us by taking part in our Coastal Challenge or other fundraising activities. If you're a diver, why not make every dive count towards marine conservation and become a Seasearch diver?
In 2011, we ran a very successful pilot of the MCS Sea Champions scheme, our new volunteer programme to help you put your passion about the marine environment to good use. We ran two workshops in North and South Wales to recruit volunteers keen to spread the word about the marine environment on our behalf. The new Welsh Sea Champions are keeping active and you can read about their event here.
