Quick actions - take a minute to help save our seas

There are lots of little things you can do that will have a big impact. Get your friends and family involved too - and together we can make an even bigger difference:

Tweet for a Welsh Marine Litter Strategy

Wales has a new Minister for Environment and Sustainable Development, please get behind us by Tweeting John Griffiths AM, and Rebecca Evans AM to push for more action to reduce marine litter. Northern Ireland and Scotland have Marine Litter Strategies - Wales just needs a little nudge in the right direction. Please copy and paste the following into a tweet:

Grt news that Scotland has #MarineLitterStrategy. Come on @WG_NatResMin @RebeccaEvansAM Time to do same for #Wales #dontleaveittoolate

NB. Anyone can do this - you don't need to be Welsh or live in Wales.

Thanks for helping!

Carry on the Fish Fight

Our ocean deeps teem with life, including many species found nowhere else. Many deepwater fish are slow growing, can live many decades but reproduce only slowly - so they, and their habitats, are all too quickly decimated by modern fishing gears. We're campaigning to stop the most destructive fishing practices in the Northeast Atlantic - click on the link to add your voice to our petition. >> Take action now.

Has your local Council banned sky lantern and balloon releases on their land yet? Find out here and we'll show you how you can take action on Twitter or Facebook >> Take action now.

Beat the microbead

What's in your face scrub? Many personal care products like scrubs and shower gels contain plastic particles or microbeads. These go down the drain and can end up in our seas. Find out how you can help. >> Take action now.
