150 mile bike ride gives MCS staff a taste for fundraising

Money pours in after 18 MCS staff and friends completed the Coast to Coast Challenge cycling from Whitehaven to Sunderland
After months of training around the lanes of Herefordshire, a team of intrepid cyclists from MCS HQ in Ross-on-Wye have completed the Coast to Coast Challenge from one side of the UK to the other.
Despite losing one rider after a serious crash following brake failure, the team arrived in Sunderland to dip their wheels in the sea and see their challenge boost MCS coffers by almost £3,000.
Organiser, Jenny Steele, said she was delighted but exhausted: "We are always urging people to raise money for MCS but we wanted to know exactly what it feels like to go that extra mile and help raise funds for a charity.....quite honeslty I don't think I could have gone an extra mile...150 was enough!"
The cyclists were supported by Ros Davies and her team in the back up van with everyone from the Heads of Conservation and Fundraising to the entire fisheries team among the staff who took up the challenge.
