Shoreline Taxis
Sea2Sky

Seafrance
As of 9th January 2012 SeaFrance are no longer in operation. MCS would like to thank SeaFrance and all their staff and customers for their ongoing support over the three year partnership, raising a fantastic £654,164 towards our work.
SeaFrance are our Beachwatch lead national sponsors. SeaFrance's support help’s MCS mobilise thousands of volunteers to remove and survey litter on hundreds of beaches throughout the UK. SeaFrance staff regularly clean their local beach, Kingsdown in Kent and brought the Cool Seas Roadshow to over 1,400 local school children.
Robin Wilkins, MD of SeaFrance said:
"We're delighted to be working with MCS and local schools on this project. Rather than just contributing financially, we wanted to encourage our own staff and local people, to make a tangible difference to our local environment. By also involving our customers by being the first ferry company to invite environmental contributions at the time of booking, we're delighted that the project enables the whole SeaFrance community to work together for a better future for our local area".

CloseDebenhams
We are delighted to announce that in 2010 Debenhams will be entering their second three-year term of funding support for MCS!
Debenhams support MCS’s work for clean seas and protected sea life through a partnership with their clothing brand ‘Mantaray’. Through this partnership, Debenhams staff and customers throughout the UK are helping to protect wildlife by getting involved in voluntary beach cleans and surveys, along with initiatives to reduce plastic bag usage and encourage recycling of mobile phones and inkjet cartridges.
Paul Baldwin, Director of Buying at Debenhams, said:
“The UK has some of the most diverse and beautiful coastline in the world, full of wonderful wildlife such as dolphins, puffins and turtles – here at Debenhams we’re proud to be involved in ensuring their future.”
DK
Reef - Exploring the Underwater World was published by DK and every copy of Reef sold supports vital MCS conservation work. Scubazoo, a dedicated team of marine biologists, are passionate about conservation and wanted to support MCS through this book. Reef is a stunning photographic journey showing the always beautiful, sometimes bizarre, highly varied and rich wildlife of reefs around the world.
"Turn the pages of this book and you can see why reefs are often called the rainforests of the sea...While it often seems like a carnival of colour on the reef, there is a dark cloud that threatens to spoil the party....MCS projects in the UK and abroad are making that all-important difference to the future of our seas, shores and wildlife, and it is in all our interests to support this vital work - as I'm sure you will agree once you have looked through this amazing book"

Fatface
Fat Face is a brand that is loved by people who are passionate about the outdoors, and the Fat Face crew at Head Office are equally as committed to protecting the environment which we all love to play in. They have an extensive 'Keep It Clean' programme with many different elements for crew to get involved with. One of these initiatives is a regular MCS beach clean at West Hayling, and they have grown very attached to all things sea-related!
They wanted to do a bit more to support MCS in our mission to protect beaches and wildlife, and so offered to donate £1 from every Fat Face re-usable bag sold to encourage their customers to stop using disposable plastic bags and help stop them ending up harming wildlife on our beaches.

French professional skincare brand Thalgo is raising funds via donation’s from the sale of each of five key Thalgo products.
Marian Green, MD of the Thalgo Group (UK) says:
“Thalgo applauds the Marine Conservation Society's work in highlighting the needless damage being done to marine life and our coastline through careless littering and pollution, and also in demonstrating to the public practical ways in which they can help to alleviate the multitude of problems it causes”.
“The Marine Conservation Society is a most natural and sympathetic partner with Thalgo as our unique selling point of using marine active ingredients is wholly dependent upon taking elements from clean and unpolluted seas, in an environmentally sustainable way.”
“We’re also keen to demonstrate that this joint initiative isn’t just part of the Thalgo marketing mix but a very real involvement and on-going commitment to raising funds and building awareness of the issues highlighted by the Marine Conservation Society,” concludes Green.
Thalgo will also be co-marketing the 'Sea and Me' initiative with MCS, which encourages people to upload a favourite beach/sea image, together with a favourite memory of the sea, in association with the new Thalgo Ocean Memory body treatment and product range.

CloseRoyal Caribbean Cruises
Royal Caribbean Cruises donated £20,000 from their Ocean Fund to bring the MCS Cool Seas Roadshow to 15 primary schools and develop online resources for many more. The MCS Cool Seas Roadshow gives school children the chance to learn about sea creatures and the importance of looking after our seas with the help of captivating life-size models of whales, dolphins, sharks, turtles and seals.
Richard Harrington, MCS Communications Manager, said "Over fifty percent of the UK’s wildlife lives beneath the waves, but few people have had the opportunity to appreciate the astonishing diversity of life within our seas. With RCCL’s support we can let over 5,000 school pupils know just how cool our seas really are!”
CloseMarks and Spencer
MCS is delighted to celebrate the launch of our latest initiative with leading high street retailer, Marks & Spencer. Launched on World Oceans Day 2011, the three-year partnership called Forever Fish, aims to protect our fish stocks and the marine environment for the future.
The initiative is expected to raise over £1m per year for marine conservation and education projects, of which 40% will come to MCS. The funding will be generated from the 5p charge made to customers for re-usable plastic bags in M&S food stores – a scheme which has already seen plastic bag usage drop by 80%.
Customer and employee involvement in marine conservation, be that through learning, volunteering, or taking part in two beachcleans a year, is a key element of Forever Fish. The funding we will receive from M&S will help us to put in place a UK-wide network of champions for the sea to support our marine conservation initiatives at a local level.
Mike Barry, Head of Sustainable Business at M&S says: “We’re delighted to be working in partnership with the Marine Conservation Society. The marine environment is vitally important to Marks and Spencer and our 21m customers. MCS’ inspiring work to protect our beaches, oceans and sea life will provide practical opportunities for our customers and employees to make a real difference right across the British Isles.”

Ocean and Polar Friends
Save Our Friends – toys with a conscience
MCS has teamed up with Save Our Friends – the conservation toy company – to launch our Ocean and Polar Friends. These loveable furry friends caused a huge stir at MCS HQ when they arrived and we're sure our supporters will love them just as much as we do. The Ocean and Polar Friends ethical range of large and cuddly toys are a great way of showing you care about the plight of endangered marine life and animals in the world. The ranges have ten gorgeous toys in total.
Furry, feathery or finned, many of our beloved species are struggling to survive in today’s troubled seas and ecosystem. With every Ocean and Polar Friend toy sold, a contribution is made to the Marine Conservation Society. This money supports valuable conservation work to protect and preserve the marine environment and its wildlife.

Loch Duart
Loch Duart is one of MCS’s founding Oceans 25 Ambassadors, established in 2008 to celebrate 25 years of marine conservation work and successes.
Loch Duart is a very different salmon company, seeking to embody and sustainable and environmentally responsible approach to fish farming in the UK. Loch Duart Ltd’s sub-title is ‘The Sustainable Salmon Company’ which is a statement of commitment for the ethical farming of salmon. Loch Duart’s environmental policies include ‘swim throughs’ instead of using antifoulants, one year fallows, nutrient balancing and a sustainable feed formulation. Loch Duart was the first salmon farm in the world to be RSPCA Freedom Food approved and they won the national “Vision in Business for the Environment of Scotland” Award in 2005, an award which "is presented to companies demonstrating exceptional environmental performance".
Through its membership of the MCS Oceans 25 Ambassadors Loch Duart has helped support MCS’s core work for clean seas, sustainable fisheries and protected sealife.
CloseWaitrose
In 2008 Waitrose entered a three-year partnership with MCS when they became a founding Oceans 25 Ambassador.
Waitrose has been working on the sustainable and responsible sourcing for all of its comprehensive range of fish for over 10 years and continue to be amongst the leading fish retailers in the UK in this regard. They have a rigorous policy covering the management of the fishery, the species, methods of capture and full traceability with a clear mission to sell only sustainably caught fish in all of its stores. This policy extends to the feed for their farmed fish which they rear with high regard for both the quality and welfare of the fish and impact on the environment.
Loch Fyne
Loch Fyne started with one inspirational idea – to grow oysters in the clear, fertile waters of Loch Fyne – and has since developed into a cluster of businesses at which issues of sustainability are at the very heart. Through staff training, provision of information for customers, and careful fish sourcing, Loch Fyne does all it can to protect UK fish stocks via supporting sustainable fishing, artisanal suppliers and non-destructive fishing practices.
Loch Fyne have now been members of the MCS Oceans 25 Ambassadors for 2 years and their support has helped MCS in its core projects for clean seas, sustainable fisheries and protected sea life. In 2010 the two organizations will also be collaborating on a series of special events at their new restaurant in the City of London.
Dragonfeeds
Demand for farmed fish globally is at an all time high, however one of the crucial issues that the fish farming industry currently faces is the amount of wild-capture fish currently used to feed farmed fish. New sources of marine oil and protein are required to sustain this growth and Dragon Feeds are leading in this field by working to develop an innovative sustainable, fish-free fish feed in the form of ragworm, a project with the potential to greatly contribute to the sustainability of fish farming and the health of UK seas.
In 2008 Dragonfeeds entered a three-year partnership with MCS when they became a founding Oceans 25 Ambassador. Their funding makes a vital contribution towards MCS’s core work for clean seas, sustainable fisheries and protected sea life.

MCS have chosen their Clean Seas and Beaches project to receive donations from this scheme, as over the last decade litter on Britain’s beaches has got worse.
