A whole new meaning to 'parachute payments' as Deutsche Bank staff skydive for MCS
22 plucky bankers took to the skies over Oxfordshire to raise £11,000 for MCS. The Deutsche Bank staff each did a tandem dive with professionals from Skydive Weston, free falling for around 45 seconds at a speed of 120mph!
The 22 have raised at least £500 each and said the whole experience was a real challenge.
MCS Community fundraiser, Tori Williams, joined the bankers to give moral support as the first jumps were delayed by 2 hours due to bad weather.
"It was a brilliant day - and very exciting for me to talk to the guys before they went up and then when they had done it." said Tori. "There were so many different reasons DB staff took on the challenge. Sarah Underwood did it in South Africa last year and roped some of her colleagues into this one. She was worried they wouldn't like it and blame her! Andy Jenkin's boyfriend had done one in New Zealand, and Tony Pullman was also persuaded to jump by his girlfiend who had skydived before."

Skydive school for DB staff Kitted out and ready
Tori said some people were pretty worried before they went up. "People were concerned they would hit a bird on the way down or a glider, lose their shoes, not lift their legs up ready for landing and Stephanie was worried she would faint on the way down - she didn't!"

Going up Coming down
Once they were all safe and on terra firma, all the DB staff said they loved it and felt completely amazing. Sara Rona was so overwhelmed she cried tears of joy and everyone said they would do it again!
