Debenhams releases its latest Mantaray t-shirts with all profits going to MCS
High Street retailer, Debenhams is selling a new men's and women's t-shirt in its Mantaray range with all profits going straight to MCS.
Debenhams, who are key supporters of the Marine Conservation Society (MCS), say the t-shirts are just one way of them showing their support for the work MCS do.
Paul Baldwin, Director of Buying at Debenhams, said: “The UK has some of the most diverse and beautiful coastline in the world, full of wonderful wildlife such as dolphins, basking sharks and turtles – here at Debenhams we’re proud to be involved in ensuring their future.”
Debenhams support MCS through a partnership with their clothing brand ‘Mantaray’. Its staff and customers throughout the UK also help protect marine wildlife by getting involved in voluntary beach cleans and surveys. The chain also runs initiatives to reduce plastic bag usage by encouraging customers to go ‘plastic bag free’.
Katharine Moore from MCS says ‘It’s thanks to support from companies like Debenhams that MCS can really focus on projects that are vital to the survival of our marine environment and wildlife. Our seas and coastline are under immense pressure from overfishing and a high volume of rubbish. If nothing is done soon our seas will be empty of life and full of plastics and litter. We are grateful to Debenhams for their continued support both through the sale of their wonderful clothing and their all round enthusiasm’.
