The work of the Marine Conservation Society has received a cash boost from Helpful Holidays, the West Country holiday cottage specialist, and one of our regular business supporters. The company has donated £10,000 from its VAT charitable fund to help sustain our projects.
And the support for MCS doesn’t stop there. If you are a new customer and you book a week’s holiday through the link below, Helpful Holidays will donate £10.00 to MCS with no extra cost to you! How ‘helpful’ is that?!
You can find detailed descriptions and lots of photos of each holiday home on their website, where you can search for the perfect holiday cottage for you and your friends and family, view the latest availability and special offers, as well as book and pay online for your holiday.

Helpful Holidays generated its charitable fund from the VAT saved during the recent ‘VAT holiday’. Rather than taking extra profit or discounting its already published prices, the company decided to hold its prices at the same level and not introduce a price reduction. The company says the VAT change made such a small difference to the cost of an individual holiday it knew it would make little difference to overall sales. Helpful Holidays books over 17,000 holidays annually and knew those small amounts would add up to quite a bit over the year. It was a golden opportunity to raise some cash for the charities it regularly supports, MCS being one of them.
Helpful Holidays was established 28 years ago and has grown to become one of the leading West Country holiday cottage specialists with over 650 holiday homes all across some of England’s most beautiful countryside throughout Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset and Hampshire. They range from romantic retreats for two to grand country houses or ancient farmhouses for great gatherings, as well as seaside apartments and simple country cottages with roaring log fires. Over half welcome pets and all holiday cottages are inspected and star rated by its team of friendly staff.
So get booking your West Country break now and help support the work of MCS at the same time!
