MCS is delighted to announce SeaFrance's sponsorship of our work towards clean seas and beaches!
SeaFrance are sponsoring the national MCS Adopt-a-Beach campaign, which is a vital part our charity's conservation work.
In addition to direct support of this fantastic project, SeaFrance and its staff are showing their commitment to a healthy future for our seas, shores and wildlife by adopting their local beach, Kingsdown in Kent.

Staff, their families and friends will be taking part in the quarterly beach clean and removing litter from this beautiful stretch of coastline. In addition, local primary schools will be joining in, and learning about the impact litter can have.
Robin Wilkins, MD of SeaFrance said:
"We're delighted to be working with MCS and local schools on this project. Rather than just contributing financially, we wanted to encourage our own staff and local people, to make a tangible difference to our local environment. By also involving our customers by being the first ferry company to invite environmental contributions at the time of booking, we're delighted that the project enables the whole SeaFrance community to work together for a better future for our local area".
Litter on our beaches and at sea is an issue of significant concern to companies, environmentalists, families and local authorities alike. Litter is unsightly, dangerous for people and wildlife and costs millions every year in clean up costs.
Dr Sue Kinsey, MCS Adopt-a-Beach Coordinator said:
"SeaFrance's support of MCS Adopt-a-Beach is just fantastic and we're really looking forward to working with them over the coming years. Beach litter is a problem that won't just go away, and with SeaFrance's support we hope to change things for the better, both for people and for wildlife."
SeaFrance's support will help MCS mobilise thousands of volunteers to remove and survey litter on hundreds of beaches throughout the UK.
With this key investment from SeaFrance, MCS aims to increase community involvement in this project on a national level and begin to turn the tide on beach litter. Adopt-a-beach is recognised as being the UK's benchmark for beach litter assessment, and this high profile, community-focused programme is the only project of its kind in the UK.
