The Marine Conservation Society (MCS) is the UK's only charity dedicated to the protection of all our seas, shores and the precious wildlife that inhabit them. To secure a future for our seas and our most threatened species and habitats before they are lost forever we:
- Protect endangered marine species great and small, and the habitats they live in
- Campaign for pollution-free seas and litter-free coastlines
- Promote sustainable seafood choices to consumers to protect fish stocks for the future
- Tackle over-exploitation of marine resources by working to achieve ecologically sustainable management of our activities
- Involve thousands of supporters in actions to survey and protect our marine life.
Just as the seas and its creatures need our help to survive the threats they face, MCS needs your support to help us in our vital work. A gift of £25 or a monthly gift of just £3 makes a big difference to our work. For example, £25 could ensure that one turtle nesting site in Sri Lanka is protected in-situ for 24 hours by trained community beach patrol officers - involving local communities in ensuring the survival of the endangered marine turtle.
you benefit, too: Our supporters receive our magazine covering current marine conservation news in the UK and overseas, along with notices of marine life events, competitions and fantastic opportunities to take part in MCS projects.
Your first mailing will include our latest magazine, information on our latest campaigns, and a Marine Conservation Society window sticker.
