Marine Policy in the UK

It should be noted that whilst the UK Government at Westminster controls matters such as shipping and marine conservation beyond 12 nautical miles, the Scottish Government has control over most matters within 12 nm, including inshore fisheries, aquaculture, coastal management, renewable energy, conservation, pollution, dumping and dredging, marine works and research and some, including fisheries and aspects of renewable energy development, from 12 to 200nm.
