Balloon Campaign Form

Marine Conservation Society Balloon Awareness Campaign

Every year marine animals are killed by ingestion or entanglement in balloons and balloon pieces. At present balloon releases are not classified as littering under the Environmental Protection Act 1990. With your help, MCS would like to change this and make balloon releases illegal. Many local authorities have already banned balloon releases including South Hams District Council, Oxfordshire County Council and Shetland Islands Council.

Dear Mr Jonathan Shaw MP. Environment Minister,

I want the UK government to act now to include balloon releases as an act of littering under the Environmental Protection Act.
