TCF-funded in 2004

Surveying turtle nesting beaches, training and environmental education on the Tyre Coast: Until recently little was known regarding the nesting populations of marine turtles using the beaches of Lebanon. With MCS support, MEDASSET researchers carried out daily patrols of the beaches on the Tyre coast during the 2004 Mediterranean turtle nesting season, while carrying out environmental awareness programmes amongst the local coastal communities.
