Surveying leatherback nesting beaches in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands: The beautiful Andaman and Nicobar Islands host one of the most important leatherback rookeries in the Indian Ocean. With MCS support, the Madras Crocodile Bank Trust continued nesting beach surveys and nest protection on Middle Andaman, Rutland Island and Great Nicobar Island. In addition to the rookery monitoring, leatherback and olive ridley turtle nests were protected from human poachers and feral dog predation. For more information about this project, click here.
