Fundraising for turtles can be fun!
Marine turtles have been around for at least 110 million years, but sadly most species are now endangered. You can help us secure a safer future for these spectacular animals by taking part in MCS fundraising events.
Please help us: Many people have already been involved in fundraising events to help us support marine turtle conservation, and have raised funds through sponsored school quizzes, fun runs, swimathons, bike rides, cake sales and coffee mornings, but we can always use more help. Hopefully this page will give you some fundraising ideas and we can help too by supplying you with posters, information and even competition prizes. If you want to do a sponsored fundraising event, please contact Clare Perez (details below) for sponsorship forms and other support.
The Big Blue Day: Celebrate World Oceans Day (8th June) at school, youth club or work by holding a non-uniform or dress-down day with a difference. Seen from space, our planet is blue – staff and pupils can create their own blue planet at school or work by dressing in blue for a day for a small individual donation to turtle conservation (e.g. £1 per person). To make the day more exciting at school, teachers could plan lessons with an ocean-related theme too!
You don't have to wait for World Oceans Day though, you can hold a Big Blue Day at any time of year, so please get in touch with Clare Perez at MCS HQ on turtle@mcsuk.org or call her on 01989 566017. We will help you in any way we can and send you everything you need to take part, including a brilliant MCS turtle sticker for every participant!
Rewards for all participants: Every individual or group that participates will receive an MCS Environmental Achievement Certificate just for taking part in a sponsored event. But, if you raise £100 or more, you will become a MCS Turtle Champion and receive an Adopt-a-Turtle pack about all 6 endangered marine turtle species including all 6 gorgeous cuddly turtles, as well as our Talk Turtle Newsletter.
Your support will make a difference, so please help us save the turtles!
