UPDATE 09.01.07: Daisy nested again on the night of the 20th August, her 5th recorded nest of the season. She went back to waters between Hambantota and Bundala  where she stayed until her tag ceased transmitting in early December 2007. This area appears to be her resident foraging ground.

Daisy was the first turtle to be satellite tagged in 2007 and the 7th turtle to be satellite tagged in Sri Lanka. We do not know how many clutches of eggs she had laid during the 2007 season before she was tagged. She is part of the Saving Planet Earth Green Turtle Race and wasted no time in getting back to the sea. Daisy was named after two people, the MCS Species Policy Officer Peter Richardson's 3.5 month old daughter, and one of the longest serving members of TCP staff Daisy the legendary carer, cook and housekeeper at the TCP's Rekawa office. Daisy's tag was sponsored by the Deep Aquarium in Hull.
