Protecting hawksbill nests with The Nature Conservancy
MCS funding enabled The Nature Conservancy to work closely with local communities in the Solomon Islands to protect their valuable nesting hawksbill turtles. They have now employed a local programme manager and a group of Community Conservation Officers to raise awareness about turtle conservation and combat poaching. (TCF funded in 2002)
