Mozambique Marine Turtle Working Group
With support from MCS, Forum Natureza em Perigo (FNP) has established the first ever Mozambique Marine Turtle Working Group. To date, very little coordinated marine turtle research and conservation work has been carried out in Mozambique. This East African country has thousands of kilometres of coastline and is known to host five of the seven marine turtle species, but little is known about their status and current levels of exploitation. With our support, FNP will develop the network of people who will take marine turtle conservation to a new level in Mozambique. (TCF funded from 2003 to 2004)
