The Turtle Conservation Project (TCP)
Five of the seven marine turtle species still nest on Sri Lanka’s
beaches. With support from MCS the Turtle Conservation Project (TCP) has
taken the message of turtle conservation into schools along the south
and west coast of this Indian Ocean Island. The TCP is ensuring that the
next generation of Sri Lankans fully appreciate the value of their marine
heritage. The TCP promotes local responsibility by nurturing a culture
of conservation awareness among the younger generation. (TCF funded from
2002 to 2003)
