Biscay Dolphin Research Programme
BDRP has been collaborating with the P&O ferry 'Pride of Bilbao' for at least 2 decades to record sightings of all large marine fauna. but principally cetaceans. They record using timed watches from the 32m high bridge of the vessel during one trip per month over the summer season on their crossing from Portsmouth to Bilbao and back (a four day round-trip). Talks are given on board to the general public during crossings, and they maintain a database of all their records.
