I have been diving for 40 years and have witnessed [like most divers] the rape and pillage of our oceans. There are no longer the huge shoals of fish I used to see. There's a lot more rubbish on the beaches, not all from visitors, I think a lot of it comes from boats. However, there is a greater effort at conservation, with serious work in hand to save beaches from falling into the sea.
