Tracking turtles in the Turks and Caicos Islands

Welcome to our turtle tracking page. Since 2009, we have been attaching satellite transmitters to green and hawksbill turtles in the Turks and Caicos Islands to find out more about what these amazing animals do at sea. The tags transmit signals to satellites, which then calculate the turtles' positions on a daily basis and send the information to us. We then map it using the Satellite Tracking and Analysis Tool (STAT) provided by our friends at Seaturtle.org.

We are currently tracking three turtles, Gerald, Wayne and Lumi. Check them out by clicking on their names below. You will be taken to each turtles' page where you will find more pictures, their latest update and their tracking maps.

Happy Tracking!
