Come along and help with a mass litter pick of Dunster Beach. This is part of the Marine Conservation Society's Great British Beach Clean and is being run in conjunction with Plastic Free Exmoor, Dunster Beach Holidays and Plastic Free Communities in West Somerset.

We will be conducting a detailed survey of different types of litter on a small stretch of beach (counting and weighing) to add to the MCS national database as well as carrying out a general beach clean.

This event is also a great chance to find out about, share ideas and get involved in the Exmoor and West Somerste Plastic Free Communities campaigns.

We will provide litter pickers and sacks for collecting debris.

We recommend that volunteers bring a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs and perhaps some snacks and a drink. We also advise volunteers to bring a strong pair of gloves for protection when they are picking up litter.

Also worth knowing…

What to bring: We’d recommend you pack a rucksack with a few essentials like sunscreen, waterproofs, hand sanitiser, and perhaps some snacks and a drink (in a reusable bottle, of course).

What to wear: If you're picking up litter with your hands it's worth wearing a strong pair of gloves - like gardening gloves - just to make sure you're protected. Sturdy shoes are a must for protection too.

Under 16s: To comply with our insurance, volunteers under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult who will be asked to sign a parental / guardian consent form on the day by the beach clean organiser.
