MCS is commissioned by Defra to provide official data on beach litter in the UK as part of monitoring programme for the Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD). Testament to the robustness of the our methodology and reliability of  data collected by our volunteers.

UK's largest wholesale foodservice supplier takes Sustainable Fish pledge

Brakes new fish sourcing policy means the company have stopped buying any fish rated 5 on the MCS Fish to Avoid List, and will remove or re-sourcing all Amber (4 rated) items within 12 months now that they've signed the Sustainable Fish Cities Pledge. Read more
